Recently I was reading an article that claimed that Comcast was the first company to offer customer service via twitter. I tried finding more information to back that up, but whoever it was - that was a real game changer. I have personally worked rapid response operations and worked for companies who closely monitor what is being said about them on social media and respond in real time. It has become a very real part of brand management, especially as your company grows and evolves. Social media is an extension of your brand and has the potential to grow your brand or even make it go viral in certain scenarios.
