Smog Eating Facades

Hey, back again is the guy that loves design that incorporates new technology.

There exist a small handful of companies who are creating facades for buildings that actually eat smog. The science behind it is relatively simple; the panels used around the buildings receive a coating with titanium dioxide in it, which reacts with sunlight to eat the smog. I have seen a few different aesthetics, but the company I have done the most research on is prosolve370. The concept behind the look of their design comes from the natural shapes and high functionality of coral reefs. More information is available through their website and video, both linked to below.
